Tying the 20 Incher
The 20 Incher is another of the great fish-catching stonefly impressions like the Zug Bug, or the Prince nymph. Any day... any time of day... this nymph pattern goes down fast, deep, and drifts like the real stonefly. It’s a “go to” almost any day of the year where stoneflies reside.

SEVEN STEP FLY CASTING METHOD TU FLY CASTING SCHOOL
What size hook do you recommend? I can’t find the recipe anywhere.
The recipe is in the description below the video. You'll need to click "more". The hook is an Orvis 1510 #10. That hook is perhaps obsolete since Orvis has gone totally to Fulling Mills hooks. Any 2XL sproat bend hook (like a hopper hook) will do. Hope that helps. Lefty
@@StreamsideOrvis. Got it! Great. Thanks. Sorry I missed that.
Nice one!
Really cool

Thanks for the instruction. Can you tell me how much line/leader is out of the rod tip for this initial training?
Bob, we recommend approximately 20 feet of line plus a 7 1/2 foot leader. Then add about 5 more feet when they become comfortable false casting, and another 3 feet for shooting and stripping in.
Bad ass pattern. Thanks Tyler for taking time with me today in the ship!
Had a great time using the new glass rod. Hope you'll take the time to give one a try. Sounds like they'll retail in the $395 range. Good mid-range option for wading anglers and small creek geeks. D
